River, inlet and Intracoastal
Homes along the Loxahatchee River, the Intracoastal and the inlet face surge and king tides, and low waterfront lots can flood. The river also rises after heavy rain upstream. Check your address on the FEMA flood map. See flood cleanup.
Beach condos and homes
Jupiter's oceanfront condos and homes take wind-driven rain and salt air directly. Frances and Jeanne came ashore just north of here in 2004. Window and slider leaks and corroded AC equipment are common sources of water damage on the beach.
Communities to the west
West of I-95, Jupiter's newer communities have the usual leak sources: supply hoses, water heaters and AC condensate lines. Two-story homes put laundry and bathrooms over living space. See ceiling leak repair.
